Awarding of Parasat prize
Almaty, October 30, 2009 (Khabar) - Almaty has witnessed an awards ceremony of Kazakhstan’s scientists, whose works have been published abroad. It was the first time that Kazakhstan has seen the Parasat awards ceremony.
Nadir Nadirov, Parasat prize winner:
- This ceremony will serve as a stimulus for those, who haven’t published their works abroad yet. Scientists are like children: when their work is encouraged, they work harder.
Zaure Nurkeyeva is an academic at Kazakhstan’s high school academy, an academic of many foreign academies and a specialist in the area of physical chemistry and polymers. She is the holder of several nominations.
Zaure Nurkeyeva, Parasat prize winner:
- Today it is thought that science is not such a prestigious area but this isn’t true. After the president visited the Kazakh National University, the prestige of science has increased. Science will receive financing and such contests should encourage young specialists and show them the results of successful scientific work.
The prize was given to specialists in such areas as pharmacy, ecology and geophysics whose research made a contribution to world science.
