Azerbaijan, Iran discuss expansion of cultural relations
TEHRAN,Jan.30(MNA) -- Azeri and Iranian officials discussed the expansion of the two countries’ cultural relations during a meeting in Tehran on Monday.
A cultural delegation led by the deputy minister of culture and tourism of Azerbaijan, Nazim Samedov, is currently visiting Iran.
Samedov emphasized the need to boost relations in the spheres of cinema and music during talks with Iran’s deputy minister of culture and Islamic guidance, Ali-Asghar Purmohammadi.
“Trips by Iranian filmmakers to Azerbaijan in order to shoot their movies on location in the country have become a frequent occurrence over the past year,” Samedov noted.
“We have always collaborated with Iranian filmmakers and are also eager to boost this cooperation,” he added.
Samedov called on Iranian cultural groups to participate in the festivals that will be held in Azerbaijan in the upcoming weeks.
He said that the expansion of museum cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan was also discussed during his visit to the Golestan Palace Museum and the National Museum of Iran in Tehran.
The delegation is scheduled to watch plays by Azeri troupes at the 31st Fajr International Theater Festival, which is currently underway in Tehran.
