Azerbaijan, UNEP discuss prospects for cooperation

Baku, October 27, AZERTAC Azerbaijani deputy foreign minister Khalaf Khalafov has today met acting director of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Regional Office for Europe Jan Dusik to discuss prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNEP. They exchanged views over a number of issues, including the bilateral cooperation. The meeting also focused on fulfillment of the obligations arising from the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea, and the steps taken towards the deployment of its permanent secretariat in Baku. The sides also discussed the activities of the secretariat, UNEP participation in these issues and the organization of the 6th conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention in Baku.
