Manama, Mar. 5 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has announced to the public that the15th full-scale emergency exercise will be taking place at Bahrain International Airport (BIA) on Tuesday, March 14 at 01:00 a.m.
The biennial emergency drill will be held in full coordination between Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) and Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), the National Guard, Interior Ministry, Transport and Telecommunication Ministry, Ministry of Health, Information Affairs Ministry, Civil Aviation Affairs, Gulf Air and various relevant bodies.
"BIA hosts a full-scale emergency drill every two years in compliance with the regulations issued by Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs and global industry procedures enforced by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)," said Bahrain Airport Company's CEO Mohammed Al-Binfalah.
"We urge the public not to be concerned about the situation and would like to assure them that all necessary steps will be taken by BAC and all the parties involved to ensure BIA’s operations, aircraft and passenger movement are not affected," he added.
"The purpose of this exercise is to assess the effectiveness and adequacy of the Airport’s Emergency Plan. This exercise is of great importance to Bahrain International Airport and helps us improve the safety processes and procedures in line with global aviation standards," he also said.
