BACA president meets EDB chief

Manama, Dec. 26(BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa received Economic Development Board (EDB) Chief Executive Officer Khalid Al-Romaihi at the Pearl Path Visitors’ Centre in Muharraq. The EDB chief took stock of the Pearl Path, the second vestige to be added to the UNESCO List of World Heritage Sites. He also visited the "5000 Years of Bahrain Pearls" festival, being held in the Visitors’ Centre. The centre showcases a rare collection of pearls, among the collectibles of the Bahrain National Museum, Matar Jewellery and Cartier collection. BACA president stressed the importance of conserving the urban and cultural heritage in the city of Muharraq, adding that the Visitors’ Centre would enrich cultural life in Muharraq Capital of Islamic Culture 2018. EDB chief hailed BACA-led efforts, stressing the importance of the Pearl Path Visitors’ Centre in Muharraq. He underlined cooperation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.
