Manama, July 17 (BNA): President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, received here today a delegation from the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), led by its Director-General, Dr. Webber Ndoro. Director of the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH), Dr. Heba Abdulaziz, Advisor to ARC-WH, Dr. Mounir Bouchenaki, and Regional Director of International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM-Sharjah), Dr. Zaki Aslan, were present. Shaikha Mai asserted that the ongoing cooperation between ARC-WH and ICCROM has contributed to promoting the world heritage across Arab countries, and highlighting Arab accomplishments at the international level. In this regard, she praised the fruitful outcomes of such effective communication and cooperation between the two sides, expressing thanks to Dr. Ndoro for his support for ARC-WH’s projects. The meeting discussed the possibility of renewing the existing cooperation agreement between ARC-WH, ICCROM and ICCROM-Sharjah, given its role in building the capacities of Arab experts through training programmes and experience exchange activities. The ICCROM delegation then visited the Bahrain National Museum, where they learned about the museum's collectibles that tell the history of Bahrain, which dates back more than four thousand years. They were also informed about the Hall of Dilmun Graves, which is devoted to the archaeological site of the Dilmun Burial Mounds, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
