Bahrain’s Ambassador to the USA visits American University of Bahrain

Manama, Apr.12 (BNA): Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa paid a visit to the American University of Bahrain (AUBH) where he was received by the Founding President of AUBH, Dr. Susan E. Saxton.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States participated in a discussion with the students during which he thanked the University’s staff and students.
He praised the role played by the university in improving the quality of education in the Kingdom through providing a modern advanced education.
He also reviewed his role as an Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States, namely in enhancing Bahraini-US relations and shedding light on Bahrain’s most prominent achievements over the past few years.
He underlined the Kingdom’s efforts to become a fintech leading hub as well as its globally recognized efforts in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and its pioneering role in women empowerment.
He underscored that such achievements are due to the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, wishing the students success.
Dr. Saxton reviewed the educational program offered by the university to its students, and its efforts to position Bahrain as a regional center for higher education and to graduate students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the global economy, while contributing to the sustainable and competitive growth of the Kingdom, through its academic partnership with California State University, Northridge (CSUN).
The Founding President of AUBH, Dr. Susan E. Saxton also added that they were honored to have received the Ambassador in an opportunity that reflects the importance of employing technology in developing technical skills for students.
She also noted that AUBH is the first comprehensive university to follow an American educational system in the Kingdom of Bahrain and adopts an approach that fosters engagement between the teaching staff and students.
