Bahrain’s Consulate General opening in Laâyoune reinforces strategic relations with Morocco

Manama, Dec. 30 (BNA): Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, received today Morocco’s Ambassador to Bahrain Mustapha Benkhayi. The undersecretary expressed the pride of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, of the strong fraternal relations with Morocco that were recently reflected through the opening of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Laâyoune. This move represents a historical and strategic step in the consolidation of the solid relations between the two countries. It also embodies Bahrain’s unwavering and supportive position to Morocco and its security, stability, sovereignty and rights. Dr. Shaikha Rana said that opening the consulate general in Laayoune will provide a strong impetus to the continuous efforts of the two countries to advance various aspects of their cooperation towards wider prospects and develop coordination on regional and international issues in a way that promotes their interests and meets the aspirations of their people for further progress and prosperity. The undersecretary noted the important positive results and fruitful meetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, during his recent visit to Morocco and his discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, which reflected the shared desire to consolidate cooperation. Ambassador Benkhayi affirmed Morocco's steady keenness to strengthen its close fraternal relations with Bahrain. He also stressed Morocco's deep appreciation of the firm fraternal positions of Bahrain in support of his country, which reflects the depth and strength of their relations and Bahrain’s important role in developing joint Arab action and preserving the security and stability of the region.
