Bahrain’s delegation attends meeting in Brussels

Brussels, Dec. 4 (BNA): A delegation led by Foreign Ministry’s Chief of Strategic Affairs Ambassador Nancy Abdulla Jamal, met in Brussels with members of the Small Group Meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS. This meeting comes as the first actual meeting of the political directors of the coalition, in which it was agreed that the upcoming meetings of the groups should be held physically, after two years of virtual meetings. Ambassador Nancy delivered the remarks of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the meeting, which highlighted the priority issues of the Kingdom, namely combating terrorism, preventing extremism, countering terrorist financing and money laundering. She also announced the Kingdom of Bahrain's support for the new files of the coalition, which are concerned with developments in the fight against terrorism and terrorist ideology in new geographical areas, noting the Kingdom of Bahrain's joining the Africa Focus Group, in addition to its membership in other specialized groups. She showcased Bahrain’s stance in support of the international community to secure the world from the terror of terrorist thought with the aim of promoting global peace and stability to ensure a better tomorrow for peoples. She welcomed Burkina Faso, the 84th member of the coalition and emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain's support for the position of the coalition.
