Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry regrets Amnesty International allegations

Manama, Feb. 22(BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain express regret over the incorrect information and falsehoods contained in the report issued by Amnesty International which lack the required professionalism and objectivity in human rights reports by obtaining information and news coming from unfair sources and paid media channels, known for extremism, prejudice and incredibility. Whilst the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that it will study the allegations contained in this report and respond to it, it looks forward to this organization to come up with fairer reports and not to rely on sources that express single-sided opinion. It advises Amnesty International to obtain its information from all the concerned authorities and institutions that have not been approached prior to the issuance of this biased report for more positive positions and objective, neutral, non-selective and unbiased reports. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses that the Kingdom of Bahrain will remain adamantly committed to the respect and promotion of human rights and public freedoms in accordance with the applicable laws and in consonance with its constitution. It also affirms that the Kingdom of Bahrain will live up to its commitment to international agreements and its willingness to cooperate and communicate with all international organizations, based on its civilizational and cultural heritage and its deep-rooted religious values that guarantee human rights and the values of tolerance, justice and equality among all.
