Bahrain’s support to Palestinian cause reiterated

Manama, June 28 (BNA): Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s unwavering stances in support of the Palestinian cause as emphasized by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during Makkah summits reliant upon international resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative, to culminate in the establishment of Palestinian independent state on the July 4, 1967 borders with its capital in Eastern Al Quds. The minister stressed that the Peace to Prosperity workshop hosted in Manama was not a step towards normalization with Israel, but it was an economic initiative in the interest of the region’s development in general and the Palestinian people in particular. Speaking with Al Arabiya TV channel’s anchor, Shaikh Khalid pointed out that Bahrain supports any effort aimed at development and stability to achieve the promising future for the region’s peoples. The minister expressed appreciation of the US role in maintaining regional security without being dragged into military confrontation by Iran’s irresponsible and hostile behaviors. The minister expressed great expectations for the workshop organized by the United States and hosted in Bahrain, praising the high-profile experts participation in the Peace to Prosperity workshop, including World Bank’s president, reps from the private sector in the G5 nations and influential countries across the continents. He added that the two-day hosted by Bahrain and came up with ideas and a tremendous role for the biggest player in the Middle East alluding to the United States. The workshop offered great opportunities for the region’s peoples, especially the Palestinian people, of development, education and better living.
