Bahrain attends CICA meeting

Manama, Dec. 8 (BNA): Foreign Ministry’s Chief of the Afro-Asian Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Fatima Abdullah Al-Dhaen, took part in the meeting of the Senior Officials Committee of Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The meeting which was held virtually today was chaired by the First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shahrat Nuryshev. Al-Dhaen reiterated Bahrain's support for making CICA an international organization that works to devote its efforts to promoting peace and combating terrorism regionally and internationally, noting that Bahrain believes that the interests and objectives of Asian countries are common. CICA is an intergovernmental forum that aims to promote cooperation for peace, security and stability in Asia. Bahrain has been actively participating in CICA's activities since attaining full membership in 2011.
