Bahrain attends preparatory meeting

Manama, Nov.10 (BNA): .The Director of Organizations Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Fatema Abdulla Fares Aldhaen, participated in the senior officials' preparatory meeting for the 44th Annual Ministerial Meeting of the Group of 77 and China, which was held virtually today. During the meeting, the report of the Committee of Experts on the Perez Guerrero Trust Fund for Economic and Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries of the Group of 77 and China was reviewed. Member States were invited to support the increase in the resources of the Trust Fund through regular contributions to the United Nations Voluntary Conference to the Fund in accordance with General Assembly Resolution No. 58/220 of December 23, 2003. The meeting discussed the arrangements for the Third South Summit, to be held in Uganda, and the draft declaration of the 44th Annual Ministerial Meeting, scheduled for Thursday, November 12. It is worth noting that the Group of 77 and China was established in 1964, and is the largest negotiating forum on behalf of developing countries within the United Nations, with the aim of promoting the economic and development interests of these countries.
