Bahrain attends Tunisia investment conference

Tunis, Nov. 29 (BNA): The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani headed the Bahraini delegation to the International Conference to Support the Economy and Investment in Tunisia under title of "Tunisia 2020 The Road to Inclusion, Sustainability and Efficiency", being held on November 29-30, 2016. The Minister conveyed thanks and appreciation from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the invitation to attend this conference, wishing the event every success. The minister added that "the participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this conference came from brotherly relations and common denominators of moderation and openness. The visit of Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi to Bahrain in January of this year provided an opportunity to exchange views in light of what unites the two countries of aspirations and challenges." "At the local level, the two countries seek to achieve sustainable development programs through planning and implementation in accordance with economic and social vision based on human capital and integrated infrastructure." "The participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this conference came from its belief in the objectives of the conference to revive the Tunisian economy and implement development programs and invest in Tunisia to create more job opportunities and establish more development projects and urban development and modernize institutions and facilities in accordance with Tunisia’s plan 2020." The Minister added that "Tunisia’s developmental march from the era of independence was the ideal model for developing countries in the region that have been able to set the future and plan to attain a lot of achievements in different sectors such as education, vocational training, tourism, and industry. This enables Tunisia today to have a safe and attractive environment for investment in light of legislative reforms and laws." The minister pointed out "the results of joint work of Bahrain-Tunisian Committee, which was held in Tunisia last month and the agreements signed confirm on the possibility to benefit both countries each other in various fields. The reform program and comprehensive development offered by Tunisia in this conference is an attractive source of confidence to invest and establish long-term economic partnership with Tunisia under the its wise leadership."
