Bahrain capable of overcoming challenges thanks to HM King's leadership, directives: Speaker

Manama, Sept. 21 (BNA): Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has asserted that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has become a unique model for a civilised society with a well-established belief and a modern approach in supporting peace and coexistence among all. She asserted that Bahrain’s national culture, Arab fundamentals, Islamic values, humanitarian principles, long history, social cohesion, openness, coexistence, respect for pluralism and preservation of freedoms within the state of law and institutions have contributed to highlighting its civilisational image and effective role at international and humanitarian levels. The speaker lauded the sound directives given by HM the King today while chairing the Cabinet’s regular weekly session, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, at the Al-Sakhir Palace. She stressed HM the King’s directives, support and interest have contributed significantly to the landmark accomplishments of Team Bahrain, led by HRH the Crown Prince, in implementing precautionary measures to fight the novel coronavirus and curb its spread. She pointed out that HM King Hamad’s wise leadership and sound vision have enabled Bahrain to successfully face the challenges of the harsh conditions created by the global pandemic. Referring to the declaration supporting peace signed between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel, the speaker said that it is a historic achievement made by HM the King towards achieving comprehensive peace in the region, noting that the royal historic step, which will always be remembered with appreciation and respect, will contribute to promoting security, prosperity and development for the region and its future generations. She affirmed that HM King Hamad has laid the foundations for a modern state and its reform project in accordance with the basic pillars of the authentic Bahraini identity whose main features are tolerance, coexistence and love of peace with all. She added that the Bahraini people, which is proud of its authentic identity, is committed to the values of peace, coexistence and acceptance of the other, being the essence of the Bahraini citizens who have become, thanks to that, the kindest people on earth, in light of the keenness of HM the King and his directives to consolidate such values and principles as a culture and an approach, de facto and de jure. The Speaker of Representatives lauded HM the King’s assertion that Bahrain’s steps towards peace and prosperity are not directed against any entity or power, but are, in fact, in the interest of everyone and aim at ensuring good neighbourliness and working for it. She highlighted HM King Hamad’s confirmation of Bahrain’s firm and unwavering stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative, adding that Bahrain continues its support for Arab fundamentals, at the top of which is the Palestinian issue.
