This is Bahrain celebrates national days

Manama, Dec.16 (BNA): This is Bahrain Society has launched its annual festival, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain's national celebrations on 16 and 17 of December, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 47th Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 19th Anniversary of HM the King’s Accession to the Throne. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan attended the event, which witnessed the participation of embassies, representatives of expatriate communities, clubs, schools and civil society institutions. The festival, which was held at the Bahrain National Stadium, featured folkloric shows and musical performances, with the participation of school students, expatriate communities and embassies. Bahraini artists also took part in the festival which lasted under 11 pm at the external grounds of the stadium, chanting partriotic songs. The event featured an exhibition dedicated to productive families, a vintage car show, and a variety of other events which reflect the atmosphere of coexistence and cohesion which prevails in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan paid tribute to HM the King for patronising such events which embody longstanding tolerance, cohesion, cultural and religious diversity. This is Bahrain Society Chairperson Betsy B Mathieson extended deepest thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for patronising the celebratory event.
