Bahrain chairs 47th Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics session

Cairo, Dec. 28 (BNA): Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Director of Population and Demographic Statistics Duaa Sultan Alharban chaired the 47th Board of Trustees session of the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS). Alharban said that this event received wide participation from heads and representatives of Arab statistical organizations, and that the meeting comes at a time where interest in official statistics is rapidly increasing in the Arab world. She affirmed the coordination between national statistical entities and the expertise and capabilities available in the region. The meeting reviewed the Institute’s General Manager’s Report for 2022, Action Plan for 2023-2024, and its project for 2023. The session discussed the feasibility of a statistical science magazine and ways of showcasing statistics activities and initiatives in the Arab world. The Kingdom will chair the current session of AITRS’ Board of Trustees throughout the upcoming year, following the transfer of the 47th session’s chair duties from Jordan, and the vice chair duties to Tunisia.
