Bahrain condemns attempted attack on coalition spokesman

Manama, Apr. 1 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain "strongly denounces the barbaric assault on Major General Ahmed Al-Assiri, Advisor to the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and spokesman of the Arab Coalition Forces for the Support of Legitimacy in Yemen, which took place in London, UK, by a group of terrorists." "This falls within the desperate attempts of some parties to undermine any political efforts to end the Yemeni crisis, and to fuel the conflict and destabilize security and stability in the region as a whole," the Foreign Ministry added in a statement issued today. "While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commends the efforts exerted by Major General Ahmed Al-Assiri on various military and media levels as well as in all international forums, it appreciates the cooperation of the British Police, its keenness to ensure his safety and to respond to the attempt to commit the wrongful attack," the statement also said.
