Bahrain derives power from its people

Manama, Dec. 23 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at Gudaibiya Palace today senior officials, the intelligentsia, media persons, journalists and citizens. He affirmed that Bahrain derives power from its people who have set throughout history a model in patriotism, dedication and awareness. He praised the Bahraini people's resistance against plots to drive wedges and sow sedition, urging the national mass media to be a true conveyor of the image of the Bahraini people and their virtuous ethics. HRH the Premier paid tribute to the Bahraini people for their patriotic stances, calling for vigilance in a turbulent world. He stressed keenness on achieving citizens' aspirations, urging collective regional efforts to deter ambient dangers. He lauded the Bahraini people's stances and unity in thwarting conspiracies to undermine national security and stability and sow seeds of division. He said interference tried to tamper with national security and stability but the Bahraini people foiled it by always setting a model in patriotism and dedication. HRH the Prime Minister underscored the need for vigilance and to draw lessons from what is going around in the world by showing more determination to preserve national security and promote citizens' welfare. He expressed good wishes for Bahrain and its people as well as the Arab and Islamic nations on the advent of the New Year, calling to renew resolve to work for the growth and prosperity of the nation. He underlined the need to hold on to national unity to bring about more achievements for Bahrain, praising cohesion and tolerance which have ever characterised the Bahraini community. HRH the Premier emphasised the government's keenness to boost cooperation with the legislative branch, stressing that the government and the parliament are partners in making decisions. He also affirmed the open-door policy to serve citizens' interests, reiterating keenness on coordination to handle national issues and meet people's aspirations.
