Bahrain-Egypt cooperation strides highlighted

Manama, Jun 29 (BNA): Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa hailed strong bilateral relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Egypt, in light of the care accorded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
He praised the unwavering support of the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to joint strategic relations binding the two countries.
The Finance and National Economy Minister made the statement during a press conference held with Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development Dr. Hala Helmy Al Said, on the sidelines of the visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He hailed President El-Sisi’s visit which, he said, will support fraternal relations and expand joint ties across all fields.
“A number of agreements, memoranda of understanding and joint executive programs were signed in the fields of economy, science and technology, law and justice, the logistics sector, urban development, trade and investment, in addition to tourism, education, and the environment”, he said.
He noted the establishment of the Bahraini-Egyptian Governmental Committee for Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, which aims to identify the most important common directions and priorities in the commercial, economic, scientific and technological sectors.
He said that Bahrain Holding Company "Mumtalakat" has signed an agreement with Egypt's Sovereign Fund for Investment and Development to establish a joint investment platform for direct investment in strategic and vital sectors such as food security, tourism, financial services, digital services, and logistics services.
Dr. Al Said stressed the importance of President El-Sisi’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, embodying the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries.
She noted the consultations and discussions between the two leaders and the signing of agreements, memoranda of understanding and executive programs between the two countries in various fields.
She said that the deals will contribute to strengthening ties and raising the level of coordination in all areas. fields, especially in the economic, development and investment fields, in order to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
