Bahrain, Egypt discuss ties, latest developments

Manama, Jan. 18 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry, who is on an official visit to Bahrain. The two ministers discussed the fraternal bilateral relations and ways to expand them in all fields. They also reviewed Arab, regional and international issues. Shaikh Khalid expressed pride in the depth and strength of the relations between the two countries at all levels under the directives of their leaders. He also praised Egypt’s supportive stances towards the security and prosperity of Bahrain. Shaikh Khalid affirmed Bahrain's unwavering support and solidarity with Egypt, which he said, plays an important role in the promotion of joint Arab action as well as in the advocacy of the Arab interests thanks to its status and its efforts in confronting the challenges and risks that threaten countries in the region. The Egyptian minister expressed pleasure with his visit to Bahrain, adding that it is within the framework of regular coordination and consultation between the two countries towards various issues. He praised the strong ties between the two countries and people at all levels and their progress to achieve common aspirations and bolster shared interests. Shoukry praised the highly appreciated efforts of Bahrain in supporting and bolstering relations between Arab countries to safeguard their interests and promote their positions. He affirmed Egypt’s supportive position towards Bahrain in all situations, wishing the Kingdom and its people further progress and prosperity.
