Bahrain Forum an opportunity for religious leaders to meet

Manama, Nov.3 (BNA): Bahrain Dialogue Forum "East and West for Human Coexistence" is an opportunity scholars and religious leaders to meet, said Dr. Hassan El Shafei, former member of Al-Azhar Council for Senior Scholars, member of the Council of Muslim Elders. He praised the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting all religions to take part in the forum, being held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he noted the role played by Azhar Al Sharif, spanning more than 100 years, in presering Islamic heritage and coping with the modern world. He paid tribute to Al-Azhar Grand Imam, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, the Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, for his pivotal role in this regard. Dr. Hassan El Shafei stressed the need to uphold the values ​​of tolerance, coexistence, mutual respect for all religions and cultures, and acceptance of difference.
