Bahrain, France discuss parliamentary cooperation

Manama, Mar. 10 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal today received French Ambassador to Bahrain, Cécile Longé, and First Counsellor John Philip Fabregas. The Speaker stressed Bahrain’s interest in further boosting the longstanding relations and cooperation with France. She highlighted the Council of Representatives’ keenness to strengthen legislative and legal cooperation and to coordinate stances in international forums. The French Ambassador praised the democratic development seen under the royal reforms, noting keenness of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to disseminate values of peace and tolerance and accentuating Bahrain’s support for international effort to renounce violence and extremism and to maintain global peace and security.
