Bahrain to host continental parliamentary congress

Manama, Apr. 23 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla, in a statement, has welcomed the delegations and members of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly participating in the meeting of the Standing Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development Affairs to be hosted by Bahrain on April 25-26, 2017. He said 96 members from 21 countries will discuss important issues concern the Asian continent, including energy, poverty, economic growth, environment and sustainable development. Adding the meeting also aims to reach a common ground to promote the joint Asian economic and financial cooperation. APA member states participating in the meeting comprising Afghanistan, Iran, Bahrain, Bhutan, China, Cambodia, Cyprus, UAE, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Laos, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Syria and Thailand.
