Bahrain to host wellness conference

Manama, Oct. 1 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza will patronise the Bahrain Health and Wellness Conference, being held in Bahrain on November 23 and 24. The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) and the Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mills Company (Garmco) are sponsoring the event, organised by the Association of Health Physicians. In a statement, Dr. Mirza said he is happy at the patronage because of its importance in enhancing productivity in all sectors. It is well known, he said, that 64 per cent of productivity depends on the human element. He said the conference aims to create a healthy environment that allows employees to thrive and achieve their full objectives. He said the conference would focus on preserving and promotion of staff and their ability to improve the work environment. It would also strive to promote laws regarding health and safety and enhance the social systems. Association president Dr. Mohammad Saber said it is important for any one to attain perfect health and prevent disease, which is needed to create a balance between various elements. This, he said, leads to very high productivity. He said occupational health aims to promote higher physical and mental integrity and social welfare levels for employees in all professions and protects from occupational hazards and a negative impact on their health. The conference will include discussions on intensive theory, and focus on occupational health and idealism at the global, regional and local level.
