Bahrain hosts MUN 9th edition

Manama, Dec. 4 (BNA): Shaikha Haya bint Rashid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution and former president of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA); has patronised the 9th edition of the Model United Nations (MUN) Conference held at the Bahrain-based Bayan school. More than 750 students from more than 50 private and public schools at the level of the GCC countries participated in the event held on December 2-3. Bayan School of Bahrain is the sole accredited modular school in the Kingdom to host this annual conference after obtaining international accreditation to organize such event similar to The Hague's Model UN (THIMUN). 'Model United Nations' aka Model UN or abbreviated 'MUN', is an educational simulation and/or academic competition in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches researching, public speaking, debating and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
