Bahrain-Kuwait Consular Committee holds meeting

Kuwait: July 15 (BNA): The joint Bahraini-Kuwaiti Consular Committee has convened today for the first round of talks. Foreign Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs, Resources and Information System Khalil Yaqoob Al-Khayat Kuwaiti Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Sami Al-Hamad co-chaired the joint session. Al-Khayat expressed Bahrain’s appreciation for the deep-rooted historical relations with the State of Kuwait, stressing the kinship and common destiny between the two countries. He underscored the importance of this first round of this joint committee, which comes as a follow-up to the minutes of the tenth session of the Joint Higher Cooperation Committee, which was held in Manama last April. He underlined the necessity of continuing joint coordination between the two countries to step up consular cooperation. The two sides discussed important consular issues reiterated shared keenness on appointing liaison officers in both countries’ embassies so as to facilitate communication and cater to the needs of students.
