Bahrain marks Gulf Talent and Creativity Day

Manama, Mar. 10 (BNA): Minister of Education, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, praised the support given to the Education Ministry by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He stressed the ministry’s keenness to carry out initiatives stemming from the National Education and Training Development Project to further promote the educational process.
Marking the Gulf Talent and Creativity Day, the Minister of Education patronized a virtual forum, in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Services, Kefaya Al-Anzoor, and a number of gifted students, including students with special needs. The forum was also attended by a host of specialists in excellence and talent at the ministry and schools.
The Gifted students highlighted their talents through different presentations and in various areas like designing electronic games, professional digital drawing, robot designing and programming, video production, creating websites, the Holy Quran, toastmaster, photographing, creative writing in Arabic and English, scientific research, maths and science, sport, calligraphy and acting.
Dr. Al Nuaimi praised the gifted students, describing them as a national asset and the pillar for the future. He also lauded the efforts being made to explore talents at the local and regional level, pointing out the efforts of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) in this regard. The bureau’s general conference, in its 23rd session, approved allocating the Gulf Talent and Creativity Day to be observed the first week of March every year.
The Minister of Education cast light on the measures taken by the ministry to care for talented students and hone their skills despite the exceptional circumstances. He noted that according interest to students’ gifts has been in parallel with the comprehensive educational development process which started as early as 2005. He emphasised the role of the educational establishments in exploring talents and caring for gifted students. He pointed out the setting up of the Centre for Gifted Students which encompasses students from public and private schools as well as students with special needs.
Dr. Al Nuaimi underlined the ministry’s resolve to continue providing opportunities for education and creativity to all students. He commended the students’ achievements in Bahrain and abroad thanks to diverse programmes being implemented by specialists in exploring and caring for gifted students at schools and the Education Ministry.
