Bahrain to participate in Non-Aligned Movement virtual summit

Manama, May 2(BNA): On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Deputy Premier His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa will take part on Monday (May 4), in the virtual summit of the Non-Aligned Movement. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Incumbent President of the current session of the Non-Aligned Movement called for the summit, which will be held via video teleconference. Themed “United Against Covid-19”, the virtual summit affirms the commitment of member states to the UN charter and the principles on which the Non-Aligned Movement is based to preserve global peace and security and confront threats facing countries and peoples worldwide, including the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and tackle the human, economic and social fallout in all countries in the world. HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa will deliver a speech to affirm Bahrain’s commitment to the principles of the movement and take part in discussing the issues featuring on the agenda of the summit, which convenes amid critical circumstances that require the unity of all countries and peoples as well as concerted efforts to eliminate this pandemic, whose dangers and devastating fallout spare no one.
