Bahrain to participate in three global parliamentarian conferences

Manama, Sept. 5 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal will participate in the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, the 13th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament and the First Global Parliamentary Summit on Counter-Terrorism organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in the Austrian capital Vienna. The Speaker will head a delegation of three parliamentarians. The 13th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament will be held on September 6, the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament on September 7-8, and the First Global Parliamentary Summit on Counter-Terrorism on September 9 in partnership between the IPU and the United Nations. The conferences are an opportunity for parliamentarians to identify lasting solutions and make a parliamentary contribution to global governments, while taking strong action to promote peace, sustainable development, democracy and the rule of law.
