Bahrain participates in Arab League ministerial meeting

Cairo, Feb. 6 (BNA): Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt and permanent Representative to the Arab League Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the ministerial-level Meeting of the Economic and Social Council in its 105th regular session, held today morning at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo. The Council extended a special thanks to the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting the 18th Arab Business and Investors Conference held in Manama on 11-13 of last November under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. During the meeting, the Council approved a set of recommendations and decisions related to economic and social issues, followed up the implementation of the decisions of the Arab Summit, the development decisions of the 104th session , held in January 2019 and reviewed the arrangements for the fifth summit in its economic aspects, which will be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the sixteenth of next March. This is in addition to preparing economic and social files for the 31st session of the Council at the summit level and discussing all issues relating to the Arab economic and social action. The Arab Ministerial Council also discussed and followed up the proposal of a Greater Arab Free Trade and the progress of the Arab Customs Union and followed up the investment file in the Arab countries, in addition to adopting the reports and decisions of the ministerial council and committees as well as other issues. In the social file, they discussed a number of topics which top joint Arab developmental action, including various areas of Arab-international cooperation in social areas, especially the Arab-Indian and Chinese cooperation, in health, education, culture, dialogue of civilizations, women and other issues relating to social and development areas. The delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain included Mr. Sami Hamid, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Relations and Cooperation, Mr. Abdullah Abdul Hamid Al-Aradi, Head of the Relations Department with the Arab Countries, and Mrs. Manal Al-Awadhi, Third Secretary at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Cairo.
