Bahrain participates in Dubai Health Forum

Dubai, Jan. 21 (BNA): President of the Supreme Health Council Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa headed Bahrain’s delegation to the 3rd session of Dubai Health Forum 2019 which kicked off today under the patronage of the UAE Vice President and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The forum was opened by Director General of Dubai Health Authority Hamid bin Mohammed Al Qatami, with the participation of many ministers, senior health officials and decision makers from participating countries.   The Supreme Health Council President lauded the constant directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier to boost cooperation with the UAE mainly in the health sector. He praised the pioneering health initiatives in the UAE, under the leadership of the UAE President Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the support of Vice President and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also commended the efforts of Dubai Health Authority in organising the annual forum which is considered as a platform to exchange experiences in the health field.   Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa reviewed the comprehensive development projects of the health sector in Bahrain, including mainly the National Health Plan (2016-2025) which is considered as one of the key initiatives in the reform and development project of His Majesty the King. He stressed that the plan is based on clear fundamentals including providing quality and sustainable health services, controlling expenditure and ways of funding them, attracting qualified medical professionals, operating effective and sound systems for health information and activating governance in a way that determines the leading roles of institutions.   The Supreme Health Council President reviewed steps in implementing the national health insurance programme “My Health” which aims to set up a distinguished health system based on quality, choice and sustainability in providing health services. A briefing was also given on the primary health services provided by Bahrain at health centres according to the best international health standards.   Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa held a meeting with the Dubai Health Authority Director General Hamid bin Mohammed Al Qatami and discussed with ways of boosting cooperation in the health field.   Bahrain’s delegation, headed by Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, comprises Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Walid Khalifa Al Mena, the Supreme Health Council Secretary General Ibrahim Ali Al Nawakhdha, Assistant Secretary General for Primary Healthcare Dr. Manal Alawi Sayed Amine Alawi.
