Bahrain participates in international conference

Manama, Nov. 30 (BNA): Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, took part in the 21st Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention, in The Hague, Netherlands. The Undersecretary delivered the statement of the Kingdom of Bahrain before the conference, underlining the efforts being made by the organization to rid the world of chemical weapons and production facilities everywhere as well as taking the necessary additional measures to prohibit their use. He also emphasized the role of the National Committee of the Kingdom of Bahrain in enforcing the provisions of the convention through the workshops it holds and its participation in relevant regional and global conferences. Ambassador Abdullah valued the Organization’s capacity building role and provision of technical aid in the field of chemical security and safety, touching on the practical and legislative measures taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain at the national level to make sure chemical material is used solely for peaceful purposes such as in environmental, industrial and medical domains.
