Bahrain participates in TFTC capacity building workshop

Riyadh, June 8 (BNA): The delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain participated in a capacity-building workshop on combating the financing of terrorism, which was held here. The workshop was organised by the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC) and in cooperation with the US Department of Justice. The delegation included specialists and experts in this field from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior and the Central Bank of Bahrain. The participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this specialised workshop confirms its commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at combating money laundering and defeating sources of terrorist financing. It also proves the importance it attaches to strategic and constructive cooperation with regional and international partners in these files, in order to ensure the fight against everything that aims to threaten global peace and stability. It is worth noting that at the national level, more than 60 specialised people, representing six national institutions and bodies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, participated in TFTC workshops in 2021. This, in turn, reflects the concerted efforts of the competent national agencies in the Kingdom in combating money laundering and terrorist financing, which would promote the international standing of Bahrain in issues related to peace and security. Representatives of the TFTC member states, namely the GCC states and the United States of America, participated in the workshop.
