Bahrain praised for successful Forum for Dialogue, elections

Riyadh, Dec. 10 (BNA): The 43rd Session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Supreme Council has commended the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue "East and West for Human Coexistence". The forum was held in November under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa coinciding with the visits of His Holiness Pope Francis and His Eminence Dr Ahmed Al Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders, to the Kingdom. In its communiqué, the Supreme Council also commended the success of the parliamentary and municipal elections held in November in Bahrain. The quadrennial elections held regularly since 2002 consolidate political gains, reinforce achievements and support the process of progress and prosperity in the Kingdom, the communiqué said. The Supreme Council also praised the success of the joint Bahraini-Emirati anti-terror exercise “Jalmud 3” in November as part of the efforts undertaken by the GCC countries to combat terrorism.
