Bahrain ratifies Paris Agreement on Climate Change

New York, Dec. 24 (BNA): Based on Royal Decree 75/2016 issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the ratification of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Jamal Fares Al-Ruwaie, deposited the instrument of ratification of the agreement. The ceremony for the deposit of ratification instruments of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change was held yesterday at the UN headquarters. The move is in accordance with the steps being taken by the kingdom to protect the environment and adopt the bases of sustainable development. The Kingdom of Bahrain is among the first countries to ratify the agreement in whose meetings the Supreme Council for the Environment had participated.
