Bahrain Red Crescent Society organises safety workshop

Manama, Nov. 13 (BNA): Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) has organized a workshop themed "Safety of the Elderly" marking the "International Day for Elderly Persons", in coordination with Ministry of Labor & Social Development represented by Manama Community Centre in Juffair, The workshop was moderated by instructor Hassan Sulaiman Al-Nuaimi, in the presence of 60 people from parental welfare centres and community centres. Al Nuaimi enlightened the senior participants on how to proactively prevent emergencies and the steps they should take in emergency cases such as falling, bleeding, gout or low sugar. He also reviewed the routine procedures that enable the elderly to keep healthy. This workshop was paralleled with the keenness of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society to represent the humanitarian principles of relief and voluntary work inside and outside Bahrain in accordance with the principle of international humanitarian cooperation adopted by the international Geneva Conventions and in accordance with the basic principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The workshop comes within the framework of the Society's keenness to involve the elderly to celebrate their international day on an annual basis, in the context of the special attention given by the Kingdom of Bahrain to the elderly, and to ensure their inclusion in society and participate in their activities and provide them with all support.
