Bahrain rejects Israeli statements over West Bank

Manama, Apr. 9 (BNA): Bahrain affirmed its rejection of the statements made by the Israeli Prime Minister to annex settlements in the occupied West Bank and impose Israeli sovereignty over them once he wins elections. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that the Israeli plans would undermine efforts to reach a just and comprehensive settlement to the Palestinian issue in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and the two-state solution," said the ministry in its statement today. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs totally rejects these statements, reiterating its unequivocal position in support of the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people to establishing their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital," added the ministry. It also called on the international community to compel Israel to stop all illegal settlement activities and respect the relevant resolutions of the international legitimacy.
