Bahrain-Russian Cultural Forum to be held in Manama in spring

Moscow, Nov. 18 (BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa and Russia's Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova have discussed ways to enhance cultural relations between the two countries. The meeting focused on the Bahrain-Russian Cultural Forum "Diversity of Cultures as Basis for Dialogue" to be held in Manama in the spring/ During the forum, cultural and artistic figures from the two countries will get together to participate in the development of cultural work and dialogue. The meeting, attended by Bahrain's Ambassador to Russia Ahmed Al Saati, also discussed the possibility of enhancing cultural exchange through visiting exhibitions and concerts that reflect the richness of both countries. Cultural relations between Bahrain and Russia have emerged stronger in recent years thanks to widening cooperation that featured agreements, seminars, exhibitions, meetings between officials and mutual visits. On November 12, Tchaikovsky's ballet "The Sleeping Beauty" was performed by the troupe of the Jacobson State Academic Ballet Theater at the Bahrain National Theater. The performance of the St. Petersburg troupe celebrated the anniversary of the theater opened in 2012.
