Bahrain signs the statute of Women Development Organisation at OIC

Riyadh, Mar. 4 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Hmoud bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, in the presence of OIC Secretary-General, Dr. Yusuf bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, signed the Articles of the OIC’s Women Development Organisation. On this occasion, Shaikh Hmoud affirmed that this step embodies the great and constant attention and care that women receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of the HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), who enabled Bahraini women to occupy leadership positions in various fields. He added that the signing of the statute of the Organization is an important achievement to be added to the Kingdom of Bahrain's record of achievements in supporting and empowering women in general, and Bahraini women in particular. It also embodies the Kingdom of Bahrain's keenness to strengthen cooperation with various organizations and provide all support and assistance to women, he noted. The Ambassador expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's appreciation of OIC role in advancing and empowering women in various political, economic, social and cultural fields and in preparing women for decision-making positions as active partners of men in the development process in all societies. He expressed thanks and appreciation to Dr. Othaimeen for his tangible efforts in developing the mechanisms of OIC and enhancing joint cooperation in various fields
