Bahrain Summer Festival 2019 launched

Manama, June 27 (BNA): The eleventh edition of the annual Bahrain Summer Festival has been launched this evening. The launch ceremony was held at Nakhool Tent adjacent to the Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort in the city of Riffa. Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa attended the opening ceremony, in the presence of Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina. Ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain, officials representing Government departments, families, visitors and other cultural figures were also present. Addressing the opening ceremony, BACA President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa stressed the importance of the festival, which reached its eleventh edition, in bringing joy and enriching cultural life in Bahrain during summer season. She pointed out that the eleventh edition of the Bahrain Summer has been marked this year by the relocation of the iconic Nakhool tent to the vicinity of the Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort in the city of Riffa. "This reflects BACA firm belief in the crucial role of heritage and culture in promoting cultural life in the Kingdom of Bahrain", she said, extending deepest thanks to the sponsors of the Bahrain Summer Festival 2019 as well those contributing to the event.
