Bahrain-US cooperation to combat terrorism funding discussed

Manama, Apr. 17 (BNA): Minister of Finance and National Economy Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa stressed Bahrain's ongoing efforts to back the international efforts to combat economic crimes, including mainly illegal trading of money. He stressed the need to fight them through the government's institutions and according to international laws. He also pointed out the importance of boosting coordination at all levels to carry out effective procedures to confront the quality development in innovated funding methods used by the terrorist organisations in order to maintain international peace and stability. The Minister of Finance and National Economy was speaking as he received today the US Treasury’s Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing Marshall Billingslea and his accompanying delegation. They discussed boosting bilateral cooperation in combating terrorism funding.
