Bahrain welcomes ceasefire in State of Libya

Manama, Aug. 21 (BNA): “Bahrain welcomes the statements issued by the Head of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord and the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the State of Libya, regarding the immediate ceasefire, halt of all military operations, and arrangements for the resumption of production and exports in the oil fields and ports, in a decisive step that gives top priority to Libya's interests, security, stability and territorial integrity at this difficult stage,” a statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry said. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses the need for all parties of the ongoing conflict in Libya to adhere to this step, calling for the use of this opportunity to stop all foreign interference in the internal affairs of Libya, and to resume the political process to reach a comprehensive political settlement that maintains security and stability in Libya and the region, and meets the aspirations of the people of Libya in development and prosperity,” the statement added.
