Bahrain welcomes Saudi green push

Manama, Oct.23 (BNA): Initiatives launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, were welcomed.
The Kingdom of Bahrain also welcomed the announcement by Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s goal is to reach Net Zero carbon emissions by 2060.
Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohammed Mubarak bin Daina, welcomed the Saudi initiatives which, he said, reflect awareness of the importance of tackling the climate changes and promote urban sustainability.
He said that Bahrain’s adherence to the principles of the Green Middle East Initiative contributes to enhancing sustainability and protecting the environment.
He added that the directives cited in the initiative contribute to achieving more environmental protection, combating climate change and popularizing the use of clean technologies free of pollutants, as well as creating new, more sustainable and impactful jobs.
He pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain will continue to support environmentally friendly initiatives that contribute to reducing zero carbon emissions and enhancing public health and productivity in the areas of competence.
