Bahrain welcomes toughened sanctions on Korea

Manama, Dec. 8 (BNA): he Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain welcomes the international Security Council’s Decision No. 2321, imposing a series of sanctions against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea following its latest nuclear test. It pointed out that unanimously issuing this decision reflects the seriousness of the international community to take strict measures in response to provocative and illegal nuclear activities that threaten regional and international security and peace. While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that the decision by the Security Council is an important step towards bolstering efforts aimed at preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction around the world, it stresses the importance of the commitment of all States to implement the new measures, in addition to other obligations under the relevant resolutions.
