Bahrain welcomes UN Security Council's designation of three Houthi leaders for sanctions

Manama, Nov. 17 (BNA): Bahrain has welcomed the designation by the United Nations Security Council of three leaders of the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia for sanctions for their direct threat to peace, security and stability in Yemen. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hoped that the designation would contribute to putting an end to the acts of the terrorist Houthi militias and their supporters, and stopping the growth of the terrorist organization and providing it with missiles, drones, weapons and funds to finance operations targeting civilians. The ministry also hoped that it would stop the Houthi group’s attacks on Saudi Arabia and put an end to the bloodshed of the Yemeni people and the threats to international navigation and neighboring countries. The ministry reiterated Bahrain's continued support for Yemen and its legitimate government, and stressed its solidarity with all international efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to end the Yemeni crisis and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
