Bahrain welcomes US-Sudanese announcement to exchange ambassadors

Manama, Dec. 6 (BNA): Bahrain has welcomed the announcement by the United States and Sudan to initiate the process of exchanging ambassadors as a positive and important step reflective of common desire to develop bilateral relations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed in a statement that this step is a valued support to the transitional government in Sudan and backed its efforts to enhance security and stability. The ministry said it regarded the move as the beginning of the removal of Sudan from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism and the reconsideration of all the economic sanctions imposed on it, which will contribute to the achievement of the aspirations of the Sudanese people for development, progress and prosperity.
