Bahrain-WHO cooperation discussed

Manama, Nov. 18 (BNA): Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa, in the presence of Committee Chairman of Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Award for Sustainable, HH Shaikh Hussam bin Isa Al Khalifa, today discussed with WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus strengthening development cooperation to enhance Bahrain's march towards achieving sustainable development goals. The minister stressed Bahrain’s keenness to boost cooperation with the WHO and other specialized international organizations to supporting noble goals. He welcomed hosting the first Gulf Health Insurance Conference and Exhibition in Bahrain and wished the participants success in improving health services in the region. The WHO Director-General paid tribute to Bahrain’s health progress in the global health indicators related to human development, hailing Bahrain’s initiative to host regional and international events aimed at promoting health services and establishing health insurance systems to benefit citizens. He wished Bahrain and its people more progress and prosperity.
