Bahrain wins seat in the International Youth Hostel Federation

Manama, Oct.17 (BNA): Bahrain Youth Hostel Society chairman Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa has been elected as member of the board of trustees of the International Youth Hostel Federation in Iceland. Six countries submitted their nominations to win a seat in the board of trustees-The Kingdom of Bahrain, Germany, Italy, Spain, New Zealand and the Netherlands. Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa secured 112 out of 123 votes, which enabled him to win a seat. Germany and Spain have also joined the board of trustees of the International Youth Hostel Federation. Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Hesham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder hailed the election of Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, of His Majesty’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.
