Bahraini Ambassador to Indonesia participates in ministerial meeting

Bali, Dec. 11 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Mohammed Ghassan Shaikho, participated in the ministerial meeting of the 13th edition of Bali Democracy Forum, which was held on December 10 on the island of Bali, Indonesia. Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, inaugurated the forum, in the presence of 44 participants from 26 countries through in-person attendance. 500 participants from 69 countries also attended the Forum virtually, including ministers, ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Indonesia, representatives of governments and international organisations as well as a number of Indonesian officials, academics and representatives of the economic sector. The forum discussed the importance of preserving democratic practices during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. It also shed light on the importance of solidarity and cooperation between countries to preserve democratic values through the exchange of experiences. It also spotlighted following up sustainable development for the good of states and peoples.
